NEW IWAI TITLE ON DS

05/03/2005 - Toshio Iwai, known for spearheading original Nintendo titles (Otocky) for the Famicom System, has produced a new music game for the Nintendo DS.

Electroplankton takes advantage of the handheld console's touch screen and its built-in microphone. Players can control so-called digital plankton similar to the animated aquatic creatures Iwai has developed since the late eighties (Well of Lights).

While Electroplankton randomly generates music of its own, it will also feature a number of classic 8-bit Famicom melodies, including those from Super Mario Bros. It is slated for release in Japan on April 7. (via GAMEHOTEL)
